Purple Noodle Marketing is our company, but it’s also a way of marketing. It’s a think outside the box, as cliche as that is. Think outside. Don’t follow the trends. Do what’s logical and pragmatic over what’s shiny and will make you money. It all works out in the end. I have held clients for many years just by doing that, so that is what inspired me to make this podcast, is to get this information out there and hopefully help other people in their marketing journey, especially cannabis [00:01:00] dispensaries, especially cannabis dispensaries.

Welcome to the Purple Noodle Marketing Podcast. My name is Ed Higgins and I am your host. I am also co-founder and creator of Purple Noodle Marketing, helping Businesses Grow Organically. So it’s a little bit tongue in cheek right? But we are a cannabis marketing agency. We’ve been in the marketing industry for over 20 years, and recently we have decided to focus on cannabis going so far as to write a book on the experiences we’ve had in the cannabis industry.

Me, I’ve been doing marketing for, like I said, over 20 years. I have been involved with different Fortune 500 companies helping them craft their email campaigns. Brand building development, their web development, their web design. I started out this leg of this journey by creating apps I wanted to get in the app [00:02:00] field.

It was new, it was exciting. So I started creating apps. Hiring people to do apps, learning the whole process of doing so. The way I work is I am a project manager. When I want to get things done, I look at how we can get it done. I also love to reverse engineer processes that are already created. So I started with applications and quickly moved back into the marketing field that I had been in before.

Via that method, I went from web design back to creating websites to creating designs, artwork, logos, flyers, whatever you could find on Canva. That’s what I also do. So this is my. I have been building podcasts and helping people promote their podcasts for over 10 years now. I have created podcasts in the past. I have been cohost of podcasts. I have been guest on podcasts, and I thought it is time to make a podcast around Purple Noodle marketing. Purple Noodle marketing is our company, but it’s also a way of marketing.

It all works out in the end. I have held clients for many years just by doing that, so that is what inspired me to make this podcast, is to get this information out there and hopefully help other people in their marketing journey, especially cannabis dispensaries.

Cannabis is, it’s being legalized again. It’s being decriminalized again, which is great. It’s only been 70 years in this madness, but you’ll find through your own research or listening to podcast. Cannabis is a medicine. It’s a plant. It’s a medicine, and it helps many people heal in many different ways, from cancers to all types of different skin conditions, health conditions, mental conditions.

There are so many uses for cannabis, as well as it’s a food, it’s a textile. This plant is an all around amazing plant. That’s what we are working on, and one of my benefits of doing [00:06:00] marketing for the cannabis space is I get to be propaganda for the good guys. I get to tell the truth about cannabis instead of all this paid marketing, that it puts it in a negative light.

I just found out recently that there are major companies. Goldman Sachs. There’s a whole bunch of different companies that have the meme around here somewhere, but these companies are anti-cannabis. They’re working to make sure that laws don’t pass. Senate just released a bill waiting on Congress to to vote on it, and then it goes to the president, and then cannabis should be legal in all states, which technically due to the 28 20 18 Farm Bill.

It is legal. Still people being harassed, still businesses are not being able to bank because federal money is not insured through cannabis. It’s crazy that cannabis dispensaries to me have to launder [00:07:00] their own money through different means in order to get their money in a bank, which is supposed to help people anyway, but because they can’t get the F D I C insurance.

They can’t be able to hold the money, so they end up having to get another bank account. It’s a crazy thing. We’ll talk about that later. There’s a whole bunch of other issues in canvas industry, but it is hot. It is exciting, and I am here hopefully to help you through your journey to help you grow your business.

When I started to partake in cannabis, I was 14. I was a kid. I didn’t really get high my first time. Like most people. But after a while I started to smoke and I started to feel better. And I can’t point back to any medical things going on, but I can’t tell you that it does help with ptsd. I had been through a lot of stress in my early life.

This helped me in a way that I wasn’t able to. Quantify. At the time I thought I was being a rebel. It’s how [00:08:00] kids work. Later on in my design career, I’ve realized that the cannabis that I par took and when I was a kid helped me heal from some of the trauma that kids deal with. This podcast is gonna take you through the journey for cannabis.

Let me give you a breakdown of what we are gonna talk. We’re gonna talk about business building. We talk about making your cannabis dispensary, opening your cannabis dispensary, if you haven’t already. We’re gonna talk about marketing. We’re gonna talk about cannabis and propaganda. We’re gonna talk about cannabis brand strategy, cannabis brand identity.

How do you use social media and your brand strategy, cannabis web design and marketing, types of content manager systems. There’s a whole bunch of details to that. Probably take a couple podcasts to go through all those. What is cannabis seo? What is cannabis organic traffic? What is content strategy?

Listen, I wanna put you to sleep on the first podcast, but I will tell you that it will get more [00:09:00] interesting as we go and talk about these details.
